First CPD of 2015 in Pontian

On February 11th we had our first CPD of the year.  As most teachers feel very insecure about using phonics in the classroom, we decided to do it on phonics.

They got it right

To start off I gave a short quiz to test the teachers knowledge about phonics.  They did a super awesome job of answering the questions.  They even got correct the ones I got wrong.  Well done!!

After the quiz we tried our hand at ABC phonics.  In some ways this was more difficult than the quiz but everyone did really well and I think it clarified things for many teachers






After the quiz and phonics practice we stopped to have a break.  Everyone was working real hard so the break was well deserved.

After the break it was Robynne and John's turn to dazzle the crowd with some game ideas the teachers could use in the classroom to assist with teaching phonics to the kids.

All in all, it was a very successful meeting.  The teachers enjoyed themselves and took home a lot of good ideas to use in their lessons. Hopefully everyone is looking forward to the next CPD in April.
